I seem to recall a final drive change that came up awhile ago and 
caught me by surprise. If that's the one you're talking about, I 
thought it ended with your contention being verified. And the late 
case, with the molded-in side cover clearly exists; there are lots of 
them around. It's clearly a stronger design; it's just unfortunate that 
the ring gear, by necessity, puts all it's stress on the removable 
side, so we don't get much benefit from this change.
