Date: 8/17/01 8:23:41 AM Central Daylight Time From: tcsaxton@earthlink.net (Tim and Char Saxton) To: type3@vwtype3.org I am wondering what a fair price should be to pay for pair of fair bumpers for 71 S/B front and rear. They have a little surface rust but are 90% straight. Most likley will need to be painted. Tim Saxton This is the second time I have emailed the list. It seems that alot of stuff goes unanswered by people. Tim Ain't that a kick in the ass? ...getting dressed down before even reading about your problem? for a 71 S/B I would say less than $100 should cover it. If the bumpers are to be painted, they aren't going to look very good, anyhow. If they are 90% straight, that's not too swift, either. It's gonna cost you more than you can imagine to re-chrome bumpers. You are probably looking at $1,500 to $2,000 to rechrome them with triple plate chrome. Or, you can buy some of those Brazilian reproductions which will last every bit of one season, and you'll be cursing like an S.O.B. for ever buying them for about $800.
