Why bother with the SAE 50 oil? The extra viscosity only adds drag and consumes power. Using the heavy stuff may be what everyone else does, but it ignores the realities of what is really going on in your bearings. It may be useful in prolonging the useful lifetime of a well worn engine, but I see no place for it in a good fresh engine.
