This Saturday I will be borrowing an F150 from work and a flatbed trailer from a friend and heading to the home of T3 guru, Jim Adney, in Madison, WI. My Mission: Pick-up and return with a 1966 Squareback from Jim's stash. 800 miles round trip. The 66 has been in a shed for the last 10 years or so, but is mostly complete, completely stock (of course), and in much better shape than my Fasty. I will also be getting a few other goodies while I am there, like a new front beam for the Fasty and the brake calipers and master cylinder for the Fasty that Jim rebuilt. I have visions of getting the Square running in time for the Vintage Show here in MI on May 20th, but that is pretty optimistic considering that it has sat for 10 years. But you have to dream, right? Realistically, I figure ona month or two to getting it to a point where I can drive it. Future plans for it??? Use it as a daily driver during the non-salt months here in MI. I will save the F*rd Festiva for the salty season. I will be keeping it stock (at least for now 8^))......I will now get the joy of dealing with dual carbs and 6V electrics..... I have 52 Meg of SmartMedia card memory for my digital camera and plan to document the whole trip. I will be adding pictures to my website. I am also planning a major revision to my site to add space for the new addition. Wish me luck on the trip.
