It could be a "City Light", they are a popular item for the sport compacts who are going for the Euro Look. They work a lot like daytime running lights. I don't know to what extent and in how many different cars they are actually used in, but I had never heard of them in an aircooled VW before. Pretty neat if you ask me. Cayson Ellsworth 68 Fastback ---------------------------- At meetings with the VW club I belonged to in Jacksonville, I noticed several Type 2's (and I think a 356) with little lights inside their headlights. This may be what Jim is referring to as well. I agree with Cayson about them being a "City Light". Maybe like park lights, but smaller and less current draw so your ride is visible if you have to park on a street at night. Didn't pay much attention to whether or not they were "inside" the sealed beam headlamp. Just my thought. --- Justin http://edenfieldjd.tripod.com '95 CBR9 FeRRari red masquerading as a '93 '84 & '85 XR200R RFVC '71 Type 3 Squareback ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
