I assume you ran a hose up to a gauge that you can see. If the 
hose runs up the air will stay at the top, but will compress when 
the pressure is up. To bleed it, just loosen the gauge end and stick 
it in your gas can while you turn on the key, then cycle the key 
until gas come out of the hose.

DO THIS OUTSIDE AND VERY CAREFULLY. You don't want to 
ignite gas fumes with a spark in the ignition switch.
