Must be living right, but you should be careful for a few days, I think you have used up all your luck for awhile! > The first washer was bent so I have to get another one tomorrow and > put everything back together. Make sure you get a real VW DDS shim washer. I believe it's hardened, so I wouldn't put just anything in there. > I am wondering about one thing. I would try to clean out all the brass bits that you can, but they should not be much of a problem. Not nearly the problem that a washer would have been. > About the magnet, I was thinking about breaking it and sticking a > piece on the end of my oil drain plug. Is that a good idea? It's not a BAD idea, but I really don't think it would be all that helpful. Most of the wear particles in an engine are non magnetic, but then Berg has sometimes suggested clamping a cow magnet to the side of the oil pickup pipe. I thought that was rather "off the wall." - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
