I just use an adjustable wench for the hexagon lock-nut, but a 42mm socket or ring would be better, and a box-wrench (? like a tube with a hexagon end and a bar to tighten) that was the right size to fit inside the socket screw, which measures about 24mm across. It shouldn't be 'tightened', just enough to take up the play, but you may need to hold it to stop the locknut turning it when tightened. Dave.
