It's definitely Type 3 - flat top, gear-lever hole (probably) in the right place. I think a 1303 has a rounded tunnel like any other Beetle, doesn't it? Console may be a rather grand name - it only fits on the tunnel - more an oddments tray. You couldn't put a radio (stereo?) in it. Dave.
