Re: Battery Tenders

Most motorcycle shops have got 1/2 amp battery maintainer kits (charger
and pigtail to mount to battery) available for around $20.00 USD.

I've used several things for this kind of service, but the best I have
found is a cheap Sears 12V charger. I think it is just a 4A/8A
version, but on the low setting the charge current (into a charged
up battery) is low enough that it could be left on indefinitely. They
are a lot cheaper than $60.

Another way to approach this is to use any old charger and hook it
up via a lamp timer set to run 1 hour a day.

I don't know if Sears still has any 6V/12V chargers, but it would be
worth checking out.
