hello everyone, I have a question that has kept me up nights since I first started rebuilding VW engines. I was wondering what the consensus is as to the way the little tin seal between the crankcase breather assembly and the the block should go? (does it even matter?)The tin seal can go with the louvers pointed up or down and to the back, front, left or right... any wind tunnel studies with appropriate fluid dynamics analysis would be appreciated. I put it in with the louvres up, pointing towards the left. I figured that the louveres should point up to keep the from clogging with any backwashed dirt that might collect, and that they should point to the left because of the slight inclination of the crankcase surface towards the right. That way any oil that got spit up would follow the incline from the center out, back into crankcase. Any opinions? eduardo. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
