While chasing this one down I did a lot of the things I described earlier. I finally suspected the ECU after checking everything else. When I swapped a spare ECU in my original symptoms cleared up, but I ran into a new problem-- this time consistently losing two of my injector signals when the engine warmed up. So then I did everything I could to track down this new problem to no avail. Finally swapped ECU#1 back in, whereupon the old problem reappeared.
