Come-on now Jim, Doesn't that look like any other street-bug motor to you? Alternator, painted tin, chromed oil filler with the rubber breather hose, empi air cleaners... please. The bracket to the right is obviously for the same type of air filter system like the later busses, ghias and Things. The drip pan above the carb does not allow clearance for the usual air cleaner so it's mounted remotely to the right. Correct me if I'm wrong but since this model line was originally prototype for the type 3 line, this car should have many "experimental" - unique items. Coupled with the fact that the Brazilian Factory was known to make changes to the original design when they came across a regional change. This car is altered from when the factory released it. Look at the "T" handle shifter, chrome rims, not to mention the tinted windows so why not the motor? Granted, I'd take it anyway. If I had the cash, none of y'all would be seeing this car on eBay... ;) Big Al ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
