I've seen this, too, but what he was asking about were just the rubber parts, I think. He wrote me separately that his mounts were "dry-rotted" and he was concerned about them. I've always found that the rubber mounts were fine, the support brackets welded to the body were fine, but the body may have cracked around the support brackets. This was usually along with cracking of the body all along the top of the rear wheel wells. I agree that this structure really just isn't made for rough use, but most of us will never ask that of our cars.
