Thanks to everyone for all the previous information about the Auto Tranny, It's helped a lot. My question is who actually manufactured this transmission? I've been told it was Borg Warner, just wondering if that's true. I'm going to a few wreckers tomorrow and wanted to know if this tranny, or similar versions, was ever put into other cars. I'm hoping so because I still can't find a suitable 3rd/2nd shift valve spring for the valve body in mine, and I was hoping I might be able to rob one from a different tranny. If I do find a spring that meets the specs in the Bentley Manual, or is very close with a Digital Caliper, it should work right? What effect would a slightly shorter/longer or stiffer/weaker spring have? Getting tired of trying to find one little spring, but summer is coming soon and I want to see this car on the road for the first time in 15+ years. Oh, and on a good note, I finally found a parts car this weekend. A '72 Fasty. Not an Auto though, darn.
