You'll never get a straight answer. Check the list archives. I've had both a carbed T3 and (currently) a FI T3. I think the FI is more reliable and worry-free, in spite of some frightening FI gremlins that invaded my car recently. My FI gives smooth operation under a wide temp range. However, on my old T3 the STOCK carbs with the STOCK distributor actually ran very nicely for me when warmed up, but I think the FI is smoother. Of course, I have taken the time to learn how the FI works, so I have tuned it to give pretty good and reliable performance. But there are many here who have done the same with their carbs. My opinion: You're better off just keeping it the way it is. Don't complicate your life by going up a new learning curve. A proper carb conversion would not be straight-forward. -Mark Fuhriman ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
