The switch on the left side of the intake air distributor, just forward of the throttle shaft, is the kickdown switch, found only on cars with AT. This switch is fed with a fused lead from the hot terminal of the coil, and the other side goes to the kickdown switch feedthru on the upper side of the AT pan, LR corner, right next to the bottom end of the AT dipstick tube. The switch on the right side of the throttle valve shaft is the throttle switch. In 72-3 FI, this switch incorporates a full load enrichment contact. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
