How >do I affix it so it will stay? slightly knurl the end (with some pliers, perhaps), tap it back into the carb, dimple the metal with a punch or small nail around the tube to help hold it. If you're really paranoid, also use some locktite and wire the hoseclamp (you *will* be using hose clamps, won't you?) to one of the carb top screws Alternately, tap it out and thread a fitting.
