Hello. I'm new to the list. I have a 1973 Fastback Automatic that I just re-built the engine for, as well as installing dual carbs (32 pdsit). After I got the engine in, running and tuned-up, I test drove it and found it wouldn't shift out of first gear until nearly 30mph! Once it finally shifted it seemed to slip in second gear and I didn't want to drive it and further so I don't know what third gear does.
I checked the fluid level (in the final drive as well as the Auto) it was right up, and did not smell burnt. I performed the stall tests as per Bentley Manual, and it was right in the 1900 to 2000 rpm range as specified. I don't own or have access to pressure gauges, so does any one out there know of any more tests I can do to isolate my problem before I pull the tranny and (attempt to) re-build it. I already located a seal kit and new clutches, $104 Can. But I've never been inside of an Auto before, so I'm kind of reluctant to tear the whole thing down.
Any Information or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

P.S. I'm also trying to find a factory tach for my Type 3 (I know, good luck!)
