[T3] Fastback Popouts In!

Hello all!

Just wanted to let all you inquisitive souls that this weekend we successfully
installed popout windows in my 73 fastback, with new seals, chrome strip and
all.  We had to assemble the entire thing first (even the chrome strip), and
hold the seal on the window with masking tape.  Then we installed the windows
the normal way, finally removing the masking tape when the job was done.  The
latches on these things are nicer than the ones on the beetles and
squarebacks...springloaded with locking detents.  Looks like I may have found
another of the 73 cutbacks VW used to save money...no nuts inside the holes used
to mount the latch!  We had to use an insert into the existing hole and smaller
screws :-(
