Sure, it may seem like that before you get to know it, but once you 
learn and understand it, you will find it to be cheap and reliable.

I suspect that you are just assuming that mechanics will walk out of 
the woodwork once the carbs are installed. More likely you will find 
lots of people who want to sell you carb kits for it and then will 
wash their hands of you once you have the carbs and they have your 
money.

What you will find if you query this list is that owners on both 
sides of this fence do most of their own work, because good help that 
ever remembers these cars is not likely to be found near where you 
live. Your best help is right here on this list, and the two hands on 
your keyboard are the best mechanic your car will ever see, they may 
just not know it yet.

Remember: No one cares as much about your car as you do!
