if they are being used on fans, a type 3 motor would be better (if the
engine is in the airstream) because it is lower profile, thereby letting air
pass more easily through the fan blades.
another thought, since t 3 motors had more horsepower than an upright of the
same year (i think) they would be better for "special projects."
