[T3] New to it all!

I am new to air-cooleds, especially type3, and new to the list.
About a month ago, my wife and I purchased the purple fastback we fell
in love with about 6 years ago. It is known as "One Fast Grape" and was
featured in VWTrends Dec. 1994. Although it doesn't have the 2275cc
engine anymore it is one beautiful fastback.
There are several things I want to do, but the first priority is solving
the problem with tire rub in the front without raising the car back up.
Currently, it has BRM wheels with adapters in front and early drums out
back. I don't like the adapters, so the wide5 pattern is out of the
question. I want a different wheel that is not so common. I did notice
that the front rotors seem to have two lug patterns; the stock 4x130 and
then a 5bolt pattern that is narrower. Does anyone know if this is a
wheel lug pattern or is it something else? Are there any wheels to fit
this pattern? I realize there may be some machine work involved to use
the wheels I decide on. I have thought about getting blank rotors and
drums (or rear disks? anyone know of a good kit that doesn't add width?)
and machine the new VW pattern then get 16" rims with the correct
offset. Or is there any cool wheels that I don't know about?

Thanks,
Brian Schlepp
