The problem you are having will always be present on DCNFs no matter who

So...this means the DCNFs are side-draft carbs instead of down-draft?
Interesting if that is the case -- I've toyed around with the idea of using
side-drafts on the T3 pancake, it seems as though it would eliminate most
of the problems of vertical clearance under the lid, putting the carbs out
beyond the ends of the heads. The linkage would probably be tricky, and
there would have to be some *serious* thought given to supporting the
weight of the carbs beyond just using the manifold studs on the
heads. Perhaps run a supporting brace from side-to-side across the
engine? The intake flow would be sort of an "S" shape, but that doesn't
seem like it would be any more strange than the flow on a single-carb setup
or the FI intake runners.
When I've been kicking around the idea, I've thought of either using a pair
of Dellorto DHLAs or a pair (or four) of Mikuni motorcycle carbs, depending
on just what size the Mikuni's actually *are*, as I've never really done
much with them.
Has anyone else had any thoughts on this?
