A 72 FI type 3 came with a dual adv/retard dist. The different dist 
versions are called out in the Bentley manual. The easiest thing to 
do is to just stick with the type that your car came with, but the 
dual vacuum can is now becoming extremely expensive.

If you change the dist, you should use the tune-up instructions for 
the year that you switched to. 73 would be the easiest switch for 
you.
