A 61 would have been made between April and September, and would have a chassis number lower than 004000 or so, I think. (I
know of cars in the 007000 range built in late September, and by December production had reached about 11,000). Cars built
after September 61 were 62 models.
All type 3s built in 61 are essentially the same as 62 models, so parts for 62s will fit.
62s, though, are different in many ways from later Type 3s: different cylinders, heads, single sidedraft carb (with manifold
unique to 61-62), fan, oil cooler, cooling tin, brakes, differences in trim, etc.
