The Transporter rear hub socket wrench is just the job, but as Jim says they
do (usually) need heat too.

With graphite lubricant as specified by VW, I wouldn't think you'd need to
hit a wrench on that nut.
I bought a few (good value) new West Germany DIN open-ended 46mm wrenches at
a show last year to put on the Club stand.
