[T3] shudder at low rpm

i'm having a problem with my '67 manual square. if i let the rpm's get down
too low (around 6 or 700) the car starts to shake badly. i know this could
just be too low of an idle, but it also will not start out very smoothly
until i've revved it up to about 2000 rpms before letting the clutch out.
also, when i downshift to slow down and let the clutch out, the whole car
starts to shake badly. it feels almost like the motor mounts are gone and
the engine is just bouncing around back there. could it be that my front
tranny mount is gone?

power on takeoff is pretty sad also. i've checked all the ignition and it
where it should be. also balanced the carbs. could it be valves, or need
new spark plugs, or could it be a clutch problem? i hope it's not clutch
because i just (2 months ago) had to take the engine out to replace the
throwout bearing arm and throwout bearing. the clutch looked dry and had a
little dust, but that's normal, right? then, after this work, i had to let
it sit for 7 weeks while i left the country, and that probably didn't help
anything.

thanks,

dan
