[T3] Battery Tray

I was just wondering if the old Baking soda mixed with water is a good idea
to neutralize the battery acid with. I am lucky to have a 73 square without
any rust....yet. But the only area which is starting to rust is the old
battery tray. Any ideas what I can use to clean up that area with?
