	Are you familiar with a tool commonly called an "easy-out"?

	It's usually used when you've broken off a stud or bolt so that
there's not anything left to grab onto.  It may or may not be useful in
your situation.

	It's basically a funny drill bit that's driven in reverse.  You
drill a hole in the stud, then use the easy-out.  It's supposed to grab
more & more, turn in the "unscrew" direction the whole while.  This is
supposed to grab the stud and turn it in the "remove" direction.

	Since you've still got plenty of stud sticking out, this probably
isn't the way to go at this point.

	Ever drop an engine?  If not, well, it's easier than one might
guess.  (Really.)  If you've got some time and a bit of space to work,
this might be helpful...
