One on each side. I think there was a factory option for this, but I 
made the adaptor for mine. Just 2 12V batteries in parallel. Gives 
more cranking in cold weather (really not useful if things are tuned 
up right), but actually allows me to squeeze more lifetime out of old 
batteries since I can have 2 batteries that each have only 30% of 
their new capacity, but together still have plenty of spunk for the 
coldest Wisconsin winter nights.
