[T3] Case savers

Well...

While my car was on the trailer for the move, I noticed some oil leaking
from between the head and the cyls. on the right side (#1&2). So, not
having to go to work these days, I decided to check everything out and
tighten it all up. Pulled the right carb off, tin, and valve cover so I
could get to all 8 nuts and set to torqueing them. Slight porblem
occurs on 2 of the nuts inside the valve cover (the rear most nuts on
cyls. 1 & 2). The studs just kept getting longer and longer.
Double-nutting and trying to tighten it didn't help.

So, my question is this: are case savers only installed by machine
shops? I am guessing it is not something for the home mechanic to try.
Byran, you or R.J. know anybody here in the Tampa area that does this?
Fisher maybe? Is J.W. Autohaus still in business?

Thanks for any help/advice,
