My favorite front end mystery shake cause is a loose upper torsion bar -- either simply needing adjustment on the right hand side, or a beat-up dimple on the left side of the bar. I've had good luck with loosening the right, retightening the left in the dimple, then adjusting the right to specs. (Warn axial thrust rings in a dry front end can be warn past the adjustment limit, too.) With the car on the ground, grab the top of a front wheel; pull it in & out while watching the upper trailing arm where it joins the beam.
