there is one thing i can't seem to fix about my car, and that's that damn oil light flickering at idle when the engine is warm. over the summer i could see it happening once in awhile, but not now. it happens ANY time i drive the car for more than 15-20 minutes...even today when the temps were a measely 50 degrees!!! it all starts when the engine warms up a bit. when i come to a stop and put the clutch in, and the engine kicks into idle, in that instant the oil light slams on, then will go off again. then i drive some more and the oil light comes on every time the car is idling. when the car is moving, fine. now don't just tell me my engine is dead. cause i don't believe that to be the case. the valves, timing, all that crap is right on. i just did all that. compression is well over 100 on all 4 cylinders. i burn no oil, and i always check to make sure i have enough. and the oil is 2 weeks old. as far as i can tell my cooling flaps are working. they move freely and everything. i had a friend who new the cooling system better than i check my thermostat, he said it was ok. my cooling bellows are a little shot, but not too bad. plus, this couldn't possibly to enough to make my engine run this hot! i am missing the long paper hoses that go from the front of the car to the back. would this make my engine run that hot? the only thing i can thing of is maybe setting my idle a little higher...its at around 850-900 right now. this might help? seeing that light really really bothers me.....please some feedback would make my 30 minute drive to my parents house to thanksgiving a whole lot easier on me and my car... mark. 70 square fi. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
