I agree that its ridiculous that the chokes close again while the engine is still warm. It makes it idle much to fast on warm days. I was wondering if this solution would work: Direct wire the chokes to the battery with a thermostatic switch mounted on the crankcase. When the case is hot, you would have a closed circuit, so the chokes would be opened. When the case cools down you would have an open circuit, therefore the chokes would close. If you left your car for twenty minutes you would still have a warm engine, therefore the choke circuit would be closed and the chokes open. If you had a thermostat which progressively reduced the current (rheostat??) as the case became cooler it would be even better. Im no electronics expert, maybe someone who is could advise. Could this work? ===== Andrew Davidson Melbourne Australia http://www.geocities.com/vw1600tl1971 ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
