You'll need the correct trim; it's shaped and is made of polished anodised aluminum - difficult to bend much without cracking the surface coating. I do it by fitting the empty rubber seal to the glass (easy enough if it's a factory seal) then with some soapy water, work the trim into the slit by peeling it downwards to open up the slit. Start at a corner, and lay the screen across the hood/fender on some foam or maybe a blanket. Don't expect to get it down to the bottom of the slit until you've gone an inch or three along either way, or you will bend the profile. There is a wire shaped tool available, but I'd be afraid of scratching the trim strip. After that fit the screen (easier for us as ours are normally toughened glass, not laminated). I once tried to put the trim strip in later, but had to remove the screen again to do it in the right order. Dave. The main seal is hard enough, let alone adding the trim strip first. > > Peter Parker > '66 Square; Phillip > Portland, OR > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org >
