> I have a '68 Squareback which continues to have some problems with cooling > (although it goes in next week for sort of a |Q*p - with an exhaust gas > analyzer) . Airflow to the engine as I understand it is fairly limited.. > What I was thinking about, was installing some NACA Ducts in the side of the > body to hoses under the rear seat and through to the engine compartment - The cooling air and the air for the carb(s)/FI only comes into the engine area from the Louvers in the fenders through some duct work internal to the body, through the big rubber boot to the fan assly. Bringing air into the engine compartment without connecting it to this ductwork probably will do little to cool the engine. You may want to check your timing, air fuel mixture, etc. This may make your engine run hot. On the cooling side you could have the flaps in the fan assly stuck not allowing enough air across the cylinders or air leaks (holes) in the Boots, Ductwork or fan assly that is bringing in hot air from the engine compartment.
