RE: [T3] Squareback Problems

Hello Michael. You'll need to be a little more specific about your
problems. What is the smell? Gasoline? If so, are you *certain* it is
coming from the engine compartment? The gas tank *is* in your lap, and the
filler necks are notorious for leaking. If the smell is in the engine
compartment, it should be *really* easy to see where it's leaking. The FI
maintains 28 psi, and if it leaks, it usually leaks *really well.*

Where is the accelerator getting stuck? Open? Closed? Half (or some other
percentage) way? Unlike the beetle, there's a metal tin under your pedals
that comes out. This can get loose, and interfere with the pedal travel
(did that myself).

The smoke is what colour? Black? Grey? Bluish-white? Black would be a
rich condition, grey could mean that you've got a lean condition,άΣ5rengine's going bad; and bluish means oil. Which could be rings, or valve
seals/seats.

So give us a little more detail, and we'll help as we can.

I have a 1971 squareback with fuel injection. When i run my car
there
are 3 problems. The first is that the accelerator gets stuck. The
second
it smokes a little when you start it up or floor it. The third
problem
is that there is a strong odor coming from the engine (heard it is
from
	the fuel injector)

does anyone know how i can fix these problems?
