Along this thread... has anyone ever thought to put together a list of parts that are specifically for other VW's, but fit ours (Type 2 door seals, etc.) I'll throw out a couple (untried but I heard these from a good source) for you all to chew on. I'm sure there are those among us who can weed out the fact from fiction. I'm hoping this saves some hassles, so here goes... 1) late model Bus window scrapers can be cut down and used for inner and outer Type III scrapers (but don't toss the wire retainer from the old ones though) 2) I've *heard* that Super Beetle American style (w/ trim) windshield rubber is the same as any year Type III. Can anyone confirm this? I've heard the windshields are the same too. 3) I used Super Beetle plastic seat trim for my (lowback, 3 anchor point) Notchback's trim, fits like a glove. This includes the 2 sides of lower frame covers, the sliders for the rails, and the lever and trim to push the seat forward. Anyone else? David Walters '73 1600 ø¾BZ ack S.
