What you need to look for is how tall the rear legs are. A friend of mine were going to put 1987 GTI seats in his 1983 Polo. The height of said legs were very different, the GTI seats had 3 or 4 inch tall legs, the Polo seats had 1 inch legs, so the GTI seats didn't fit. He put the GTIs thigh support, cushion and cover onto the Polo base and they fit. This is one point to look out for, if you want to find some seats for the late Type3. I also know you could fit some Audi seats, they use the same tracks. It would be nice with some leather sport seats, with height adjustment. If you wondered about 61-72 Type3s, I have no idea, as I have only owned this 73, and the seat tracks were not my biggest concern that one time I found one 70 Fasty at the junk yard. The car was totally clean to the bare shell, except the paùWÝ ded :-)) The fuel filler neck and rubber grommet.
