[T3] mirror part #

for those of you with parts books, can you answer my rear view mirror 
question?
i have two chrome stems, both of which were taken from '67 type 3s. however, 
they differ: one has the leg on it that butts against the windshield; one 
doesn't and is ~2 inches shorter. the long one with the leg has part # 
365.857.507 on it; the short one has 315.857.507 and 311.857.507E on it. 
what's the difference? 
i have pictures, if that would help.
