And it wouldnt even fire up. What you have experienced is really VERY common for systems left dryed out for a few years. The hose should all be replaced, and the O- rings on the other parts MAY seal after they have had a chance to swell with contact with gas for a few days, Then again they may not. I recommend not giving up quite so quickly since you will find lots of things that will not go real quickly with carbs. If you decide to go ahead with the conversion I would be interested in any parts you figure you are done with. Good luck, and let me know.
