The coolest chop I ever saw was with a concrete saw. My brother-in-law was a concrete cutter, a mutual friend wanted to chop the top off of his '67 beetle. After a little debate the beetle owner agreed to let Paul (brother-in-law) to the job with his hand saw (used to cut doorways in block walls etc). He drew a straight line across the top of the car about 4 inches back from the front windshield and one just below the back window. He finished by cutting the side supports about an inch above the bottom of the side windows. I'm not kidding when I say it took no more than 10 minutes and you wouldn't believe how clean it was. The diamonds in the blade polished the metal as it cut and the foam insulation inside the air space was smooth and straight. When he took the car to a body shop to have the cut capped off, the guys freaked out. They couldn't believe how clean it was. They had never seen anything like it and couldn't figure out how he'd done until he told them. If I'm ever inclined to do that kind of modification I think I'll just run down RŠE` ocal rental shop and pick up a concrete saw.
