Hey Volks, another project problem. I'm trying to get the engine from a '73 fastback into a '66 square. We had the engine in, but the clutch wouldn't disengage. We found out today that the clutch disc that we bought had a square collar on it for the tranny splines, as opposed to the original one which had a bit of a taper to it. The square collared disc locked itself to the pressure plate because it didn't have the correct taper, trashing it in the process. I called Big Al today, and he suggested an early pressure plate, disc and thr2m熋aring. Thanks Al, I just want to make sure that is correct before we race to the parts joint tomorrow. It's good general info - could you toss together a list of what works together? I know Al mentioned a 68-70 Type I pressure plate or a late van pressure plate. I didn't write it down, just wanted to verify. Anybody want to buy a slightly used pressure plate?
