Rather poor design, I thought. I agree, a rather poor design, but MOST of them seem to get by. If this is caught early, you can just tighten the setscrew, I have seen this succeed on several cars. The "groove" started out as a shallow dimple for the set screw to fit into. So if you need to flip the bar you should drill a matching dimple on the other side. I think the bar is too hard to expect the set screw to just bite in and hold.
