If you are willing to spend the time necesary to learn about your FI, then it will be the most reliable way to go for you, by far. If this seems like too great a burden then prepare to pay a lot for a carb setup and then be surprised to discover that there is a large learning curve for that, too! Don't expect it to just work correctly right out of the box. There is NO easy way out. If you have a reasonably well functioning type 3 with FI now, there is no reason to change. Especially if you are just starting out, consider studying the simple stuff first, and then moving on to the more challenging parts. The biggest mistake that far too many people make is getting into this and deciding right away to just change everything. Later, when something isn't working right, and you ask what is wrong, one of the questions is going to be, "What did you change?" If the answer is "Everything," then we may not have enough info to be of much help to you.
