[T3] Dogma and the type 3

First, some technical stuff.  I have been going nuts with my almost
stock, (not really but I try to apease all)  I have been dealing with
overheating problems.  After retiming 8 times, checking the valves,
checking for clogged jets and swapping dizzies; I found the problem.  My
preheat flaps were not functioning properly, i.e. the rod was binding
and they were only opening about 1/4 inch.  I have opened them manually
for now and whala!  No more problem.

As to the purist/not so pure debate...My motto, "What ever floats you
boat is fine with me, just appreciate mine too."  The only offenses I
have ever taken when dealing with my VWs is when someone states that my
ride sucks, to my face.  Afterall, it may not be what you like, but I
have a lot invested.  If you don't like it, don't be rude, just agree to
disagree.  That is how I feel about FI vs. Carbs, Stock vs. Dark, Vinyl
vs. Tweed and AM vs. CD.  All are acceptable, just depends on what I'm
in the mood for.
