The Gol I saw had a front mounted Beetle engine, and must have had a modified Golf floorpan. VW of Brazil did some rather nice Type 3-based cars, such as the Brasilia, SP2 and a 4-door 'fastback'. I'll have to search out the photos and post them on the website (along with all those other things I've promised to put !). Dave.
