So, if you are doing 60 mph @ the speedo, you're really going 57. and, if your going 100, you're doing 95. You can actually "adjust" it by installing tires with bigger circumference, and in some countries (Norway, at least) a tire cannot be bigger or smaller than 5%, measured at the circumference.
