help! my daily runner '73 fasty has been running very rich since I bought it a couple of months ago. Time hasn't allowed me to look at it 'til now, and when I took it to a mechanic he said the problem laid with the RHS carb. Basically the spindle the butterfly is on has worn and when the engine stops petrol pours out of the shaft. Also due to this wear the butterfly doesn't return to the sV€A tion every time, making tuning impossible. hokay, whilst the wear causing poor return sounds viable to me, the petrol coming out of the shaft surely isn't due to the wear. Logically (IMHO) the fuel cutoff valve is at fault here, since it's purpose is to stop the flow of petrol after the engine stops running. Also the petrol should be gaseous by the time it gets to the butterfly. Maybe? anyway, I'm still left with a non-happy carb. Can I swap tops with a type 4 32/34 PDSIT 3 carb and swap that carb on? Or can I swap the butterfly section? or am I in trouble? I believe my carbs are 32/34 PDSITs too. your help, as always, appreciated Andy ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
